IS IT LEGAL?
​

Yes. Under the Cannabis Act (Canada), adults who are 19 years of age or older may legally possess up to 30 grams of dried cannabis or the equivalent in non-dried form in public, and may share up to 30 grams of legal cannabis with other adults.

Please note that distributing illegal cannabis or providing cannabis in any form to anyone under the age of 19 can result in penalties of up to 14 years in jail under the Cannabis Act (Canada).

High Bar Hospitality & Event Group does not distribute or sell cannabis. All cannabis consumed at HIGH BAR events is legally obtained by guests from licensed cannabis retailers. HIGH BAR provides certified hospitality services only, in full compliance with the Cannabis Act (Canada) and applicable provincial regulations.

What is HIGH BAR and what services do you offer?

​

High Bar Hospitality & Event Group is a certified mobile cannabis hospitality company providing cannabis bar services for weddings, corporate events, private gatherings, bachelorette and bachelor parties, festivals, and social activations across Canada. Our services include the HIGH BAR Experience mobile cannabis bar, on-site cannabis beverage infusing, cannabis vape stations, Vape & Sip, Canna-Bubbles and Aroma Orb activations, and custom pre-roll presentations with branded child-proof glass doob tubes. All services are delivered by CannSell and Smart Serve certified staff in full compliance with the Cannabis Act (Canada) and applicable provincial regulations.

What is included in the HIGH BAR Experience?

​

The HIGH BAR Experience includes CannSell and Smart Serve certified staff, a custom designed menu, an interactive sensory station, matches, pre-rolling, and child-proof glass doob tubes for each pre-roll. All bookings include a consultation to help select the appropriate cultivar from a licensed cannabis retailer for your upcoming event. When guests approach the bar they are presented with a selection of cultivars with distinct visual and aromatic characteristics. A certified HIGH BAR budtender guides guests through the selection process and provides educational information on their chosen cultivar before a pre-roll or vapourizer is provided.

What is the cannabis infusing experience?

​

The cannabis infusing experience is an on-site cannabis beverage infusing service available for any event. Our certified staff infuse odourless and tasteless cannabis on-site without altering the taste of your chosen non-alcoholic beverage. Each beverage contains a measured dose of 1mg THC:CBG or CBD in a 1:1 ratio with an onset time of approximately 7 to 10 minutes to support responsible consumption. The service is available for mocktails, water infusions, and fruit juices. Where alcohol is being served, cannabis-infused non-alcoholic beverages can be offered as an alternative option for guests who prefer not to consume alcohol.

What is the Vape on Tap experience?

​

The Vape on Tap experience is a cannabis vapourizer station available as an add-on for any event at a smoke and vapour friendly venue. The station includes innovative vapourizer hardware including the Zenco Vapour Bar Tap inside the Cubes, designed by HIGH BAR founder Lucas Leandro Margulis, which can be configured to complement your event theme and decor. The Volcano Bar Top Vapourizer by Storz & Bickel is also available for guests who prefer flower consumption. The Vape on Tap experience requires a smoke-friendly, wind-free environment.

What are Canna-Bubbles and Aroma Orbs?

​

Canna-Bubbles are cannabis vapour spheres that encapsulate cannabis smoke or vapour within interactive spheres. Guests inhale from the sphere, exhale, and then consume a cannabis-infused mocktail from purpose-built glassware completing a two-part consumption sequence in a single activation. For smoke and vapour-free venues, Aroma Orbs are available as an alternative. Aroma Orbs are spheres filled with essential oils or botanical vapours in a selection of scents designed to complement non-alcoholic beverages.

Do you offer CBD only services with no THC?

​

Yes. High Bar Hospitality & Event Group offers a CBD bar service as an alternative to THC cannabis services. Our certified staff can provide CBD-infused beverage services for events where guests prefer a non-intoxicating option. All CBD services are delivered in full compliance with the Cannabis Act (Canada) and applicable provincial regulations.

Can I have HIGH BAR at my event?

​

HIGH BAR experiences can be provided at private events, corporate events, and social events including festivals, fundraisers, and concerts. Depending on the location of your event — including the city, town, or province — some experiences may not be available. When booking HIGH BAR, our team will confirm which services can be provided based on your event location, venue type, and applicable regulations.

What venues are suitable for a HIGH BAR activation?

High Bar Hospitality & Event Group can operate at licensed public venues, private residences, backyards, indoor and outdoor event spaces, corporate venues, hotel ballrooms, restaurants, private clubs, festival grounds, and concert venues across Canada. Venue suitability is assessed on a case by case basis in accordance with the Cannabis Act (Canada) and applicable provincial regulations. Our team will work with you and your venue to determine the most appropriate service configuration for your event.

Can HIGH BAR set up at a private residence?

​

Yes. High Bar Hospitality & Event Group provides certified mobile cannabis bar services at private residences and backyard events across Canada. All private residence activations are delivered in full compliance with the Cannabis Act (Canada) and applicable provincial regulations.

Is the cannabis bar smoke free and venue friendly?

​

Yes. The HIGH BAR Experience and cannabis infusing experience are both smoke free and venue friendly. Pre-rolls are presented in individual child-proof glass doob tubes designed to contain odour, keeping the event space comfortable for all guests including those who do not consume cannabis. The cannabis infusing service uses odourless and tasteless cannabis that does not alter the beverage or produce smoke or vapour. The Vape on Tap and Canna-Bubbles experiences require a smoke and vapour friendly environment.

What is required for the vape station experience?

​

The Vape on Tap and Canna-Bubbles experiences require a smoke-friendly, wind-free environment. These experiences are not available at smoke-free or vapour-free venues. Our team will assess venue suitability prior to your event to confirm whether the vape station experience can be accommodated.

All cannabis used at HIGH BAR events is sourced exclusively from licensed cannabis retailers across Canada. Our certified staff manage responsible consumption, ID verification, and guest safety throughout every activation.

What certifications do your staff hold?

 

All High Bar Hospitality & Event Group budtenders hold dual CannSell and Smart Serve certification. CannSell is the sole mandated cannabis retail education program for the Province of Ontario. Smart Serve is the mandated responsible alcohol service certification for Ontario. Both certifications are required for all HIGH BAR staff at every event.

What is Smart Serve and CannSell certification?

​

Smart Serve is the mandated responsible service certification for Ontario, covering the safe and legal service of both alcohol and cannabis in an event and hospitality setting. Smart Serve certification is required for all staff serving alcohol or cannabis at events in Ontario and emphasizes the prevention of overconsumption, proper ID verification, and best practices for keeping guests safe in the presence of both cannabis and alcohol. All High Bar Hospitality & Event Group staff are Smart Serve certified.

CannSell is the sole mandated cannabis retail education program for the Province of Ontario, owned and operated by the Canadian Cannabis Retailers Co. Ltd in exclusive partnership with MADD Canada. It educates staff about cannabis, its effects, safe methods of consumption, and associated risks. CannSell certification is specific to cannabis retail and consumption education. All High Bar Hospitality & Event Group staff hold CannSell certification in addition to Smart Serve certification.

Together these dual certifications ensure that all HIGH BAR staff are trained to the highest standard for managing both cannabis and alcohol responsibly in any event setting across Canada.

How does HIGH BAR ensure responsible cannabis consumption at events?

 

All High Bar Hospitality & Event Group budtenders are CannSell and Smart Serve certified and trained in the prevention of overconsumption, proper ID verification, and responsible cannabis and alcohol management in an event setting. Our certified staff inform guests about responsible cannabis consumption so each guest can make an informed decision about their intake. All cannabis-infused beverages contain a measured 1mg dose to support responsible consumption and help prevent overconsumption.​​

How does HIGH BAR handle ID verification at events?

 

All High Bar Hospitality & Event Group budtenders are CannSell and Smart Serve certified and trained in proper ID verification procedures. All guests must be 19 years of age or older to consume cannabis at any HIGH BAR event in accordance with the Cannabis Act (Canada) and applicable provincial regulations. Our certified staff verify ID at the bar before any cannabis product or service is provided to a guest.

Can cannabis and alcohol be served at the same event?

 

Yes. High Bar Hospitality & Event Group regularly operates at events where both cannabis and alcohol are being served. All HIGH BAR budtenders are dual CannSell and Smart Serve certified and trained in best practices for managing both cannabis and alcohol in an event setting. Where alcohol is being served, cannabis-infused non-alcoholic beverages can also be offered as an alternative option for guests who prefer not to consume alcohol.

Does having HIGH BAR put a licensee's liquor licence at risk?

​

High Bar Hospitality & Event Group has developed procedures to ensure that all services are delivered in compliance with the Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLCA), the Cannabis Control Act, and the Smoke-Free Ontario Act. HIGH BAR does not provide any services that conflict with these regulations. Licensed venues retain the right to enforce their own house policies regarding cannabis on their premises. Venue suitability and applicable permissions are confirmed prior to every HIGH BAR activation. HIGH BAR will work with licensees to support compliance with all applicable requirements under the LLCA and applicable provincial regulations.

Please note that allowing guests to bring their own unregulated cannabis into a licensed establishment carries compliance risks under the LLCA. HIGH BAR provides a controlled and legally compliant cannabis hospitality service designed to support responsible consumption and reduce unregulated cannabis consumption at events.

Where can you smoke or vape cannabis in Ontario?

​

Permitted locations:

• Private residences, excluding residences that are also workplaces such as long-term care or retirement homes

• Many outdoor public places such as sidewalks and parks

• Designated smoking guest rooms in hotels, motels, and inns

• Residential vehicles and boats that meet certain criteria such as having permanent sleeping accommodations and cooking facilities and are parked or anchored

 

Not permitted indoors:

• Indoor common areas in condos, apartment buildings, and university and college residences

• Enclosed public places and enclosed workplaces

• Non-designated guest rooms in hotels, motels, and inns

 

Not permitted in publicly owned spaces:

• Publicly owned sport fields, nearby spectator areas, and public areas within 20 metres of these areas

 

Not permitted in vehicles and boats:

• Cannabis consumption including smoking, vaping, drinking, and eating is not permitted in a vehicle or boat that is being driven or will be driven

 

Not permitted in other outdoor areas:

• Restaurants and bar patios and public areas within 9 metres of a patio

• Outdoor grounds of specified Ontario government office buildings

• Reserved seating areas at outdoor sports and entertainment locations

• Grounds of community recreational facilities and public areas within 20 metres of those grounds

• Sheltered outdoor areas with a roof and more than two walls which the public or employees frequent or are invited to such as a bus shelter

How far in advance should I book?

 

We recommend booking HIGH BAR as early as possible to ensure availability for your preferred event date. For weddings and large corporate events we recommend booking a minimum of three to six months in advance. For smaller private events and social gatherings we recommend booking a minimum of four to six weeks in advance. Contact us directly to confirm availability for your event date.

Do you offer customized packages for different event sizes?

 

Yes. Every High Bar Hospitality & Event Group event is customized based on client requirements. We offer multiple bar configurations, service add-ons, and package options to accommodate events of all sizes from intimate private gatherings to large-scale corporate events and festivals across Canada. Our team will work with you to determine the most appropriate cannabis hospitality package for your event.

Can glass doob tubes and pre-roll papers be customized with our logo? Yes. HIGH BAR glass doob tubes and pre-roll papers can be customized with your own logo or branding. Where does the cannabis come from and is it from a licensed retailer?

 

High Bar Hospitality & Event Group does not sell cannabis, distribute cannabis, or partner with licensed cannabis producers or retailers. All cannabis consumed at HIGH BAR events is legally obtained by the event host or guests directly from a licensed cannabis retailer. HIGH BAR provides certified cannabis hospitality services only. Our team can provide guidance on selecting an appropriate cultivar for your event, however the purchase and supply of cannabis remains the sole responsibility of the event host in accordance with the Cannabis Act (Canada) and applicable provincial regulations.
