HIGH BAR EXPERIENCES can be PROVIDED in an EVENT space during a PRIVATE EVENT, CORPORATE event, OR SOCIAL EVENT (FESTIVALS, FUNDRAISERS, CONCERTS, AND MORE). DOES HAVING HIGH BAR PUT A LICENSEES LIQUOR LICENCE AT RISK?
WE HAVE CREATED PROCEDURES MAKING SURE THAT THE LICENSEES FOLLOW ALL THE EXISTING LEGISLATIONS, AND REGULATIONS (FROM LIQUOR LICENCE & CONTROL ACT) GUIDELINES currently SET IN PLACE. HIGH BAR DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY SERVICES THAT GOES AGAINST ANY RULES, LAWS OR REGULATIONS (LIQUOR LICENCE & CONTROL ACT, CANNABIS CONTROL ACT, AND SMOKE FREE ONTARIO ACT) THAT WOULD PUT ANY LICENSEES LIQUOR LICENSE AT RISK.
"The LLCA regulates the sale, service, delivery, consumption and possession of liquor in Ontario. Licensees must comply with all requirements under the LLCA and its regulations. Licensees may make business decisions about how they achieve compliance under the LLCA and any other obligations they may have beyond the LLCA requirements." -AGCO CUSTOMER SERVICE
"A licensed establishments may have their own house policies prohibiting legally-purchased cannabis beverages from being allowed/consumed in their establishments during events where liquor is served." - ELIGIBILITY OFFICER, LICENSING AND REGISTRATION BRANCH AT THE AGCO
IT's IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT LICENSEES ARE AT HIGHER RISK WHEN ALLOWING GEUSTS TO BRING THEIR OWN CANNABIS INTO THEIR LICENSED ESTABLISHMENT. ON AVERAGE 30% OF GUESTS WILL BRING THEIR OWN CANNABIS TO THE EVENT, unregulated and possibly even illegal cannabis on-site, putting the LICENSEES liquor licence at risk. HAVING THE HIGH BAR, NOT ONLY REMOVES THAT RISK, BUT ALSO ADDS A LAYER OF SAFETY FOR THE GEUSTS, AND THE EVENT HOST, prEVENTING over consumption. HIGH BAR will assist licensees on how to COMPLY WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS UNDER THE LLCA, AND ITS REGULATIONS.
